Manual / Settings & administration

Linked churches: a teens chapel, a branch or a partner church

Run a teens chapel or branch on its own account, link it to the main church, and send graduating teens up.

Max plan and above The Main Admin or an Admin Open in WorshipHQ

A teens chapel, a branch or a partner church can have its own WorshipHQ account, with its own plan, members, attendance and money, and still be linked to the main church. Nothing is shared unless the linked church switches it on.

Link the two accounts

  1. 1In the main church, go to Settings, then Linked churches, choose what the other church is (Teens Chapel, Branch church or Partner church) and choose Make a code. Copy the code (it looks like LINK-8A8A43B0 and works for 14 days).
  2. 2In the teens chapel or branch, go to Settings, then Linked churches, type the code and choose Link this church.
  3. 3The main church now lists the linked church under Churches linked to it.

What the main church can see

The linked church chooses, under What the main church can see about you: how many members it has, its attendance (the last service and the average of the last four), and its finances as totals only (this month's giving and expenses, never names or individual gifts). All three are off until it switches them on, and it can switch them off again at any time.

Send graduating teens to the main church

  1. 1In the teens chapel, open Settings, then Linked churches, and find Send people to the main church.
  2. 2Search, or type an age and choose Tick all to pick everyone that age and over. Add a note if you like.
  3. 3Choose Send. Their details, departments, groups and zones go with them, and they leave your active list (their record stays as history).
  4. 4In the main church, they appear under People sent to (and a banner on the People page). Choose Accept for one person or Accept all.
  • Departments and groups with the same name are connected automatically. Tick Create the departments and groups that do not exist here yet to add the ones that are missing. Zones are only connected when you already have a matching one.
  • If the person is already in the main church (same phone number or email), their details are added to the existing record instead of making a second one.
  • They get a member ID in the main church and the right age group from their date of birth.
  • Switch on Accept people from linked churches automatically if you do not want to review each one. It is off by default.
  • Either church can unlink at any time. People already sent stay where they are.
Each church keeps its own subscription and SMS credits. A linked church is billed by itself.
