Baptisms and baptism certificates
Keep a baptism register, track who is preparing, and print professional certificates.
Baptisms (under People) is your church's baptism register. It has two tabs: Register (people who have been baptised) and Preparing (people getting ready for baptism).
Prepare a class
- 1Open the Preparing tab and type a member's name or phone number in the box, then pick them. For someone who is not on your list yet, type the name and choose Add as typed.
- 2Tick the people, then choose Set date and place to plan the baptism service.
- 3When it has happened, tick them and choose They were baptised. Confirm the date, place and who baptised them.
Each person then moves to the Register with a certificate number, and their member record is marked as baptised.
Record a baptism that already happened
Choose Add a baptism, search for the member (or type a name), then enter the date, place and who baptised them. Use this to bring old baptisms onto the register.
Change the questions
The questions you fill in for each baptism can be changed. The Main Admin and Admins choose Edit the baptism form at the top of the Baptisms page. There you can rename the standard questions (date, place, who baptised them, notes), remove the ones you do not use, reorder them, and add your own, such as a godparent or sponsor, a baptism class completed, or a church of origin. Answers to your own questions are saved with each baptism and show when you edit it. This form is for your team to use inside WorshipHQ for now, and it can become a public form later.
Print certificates
- 1On the Register, tick one or many people (or choose the printer icon on a row).
- 2Choose Print certificates and pick one of the four designs: Classic, Heritage, Modern or Minimal. You can see exactly how the first certificate will look.
- 3Edit the heading, the wording under the name, the scripture and the signature lines if you want. Your changes are remembered for next time.
- 4Choose Print. In the print window, pick your printer, or pick Save as PDF to keep a file. Use A4 with no margins and switch Background graphics on.
Use your church's own certificate
If your church already has a certificate design, choose Certificate designs, then Add my own design. Upload a picture of your blank certificate (a scan or a photo), drag the name, date, place and other details to where they belong, and choose the font, size and colour. Every certificate you print with that design is filled in for you.
Good to know
- Deleted baptism records go to the Recycle bin and can be restored.
- Anyone who can only view People can see the register but cannot add, edit or delete.
