Manual / People & congregation

Age groups: children, teens and youth

Set where children and teens end for your church, add a Youth group, and move people up automatically.

People who manage members Open in WorshipHQ

Every church draws the lines differently, so you choose them. The ages you set decide which People tab someone is on, how they are counted in attendance, and how fingerprint, QR and staff check-in count them.

  1. 1Go to Settings, then Age groups.
  2. 2Type the age where Children end and where Teens end. Everyone older is an adult.
  3. 3If you have a youth group, tick Have a youth group among the adults, type what you call it (Youth, Young Adults, Pre-youth) and the age it runs to. On the People page, the Adults tab then has a filter with that name.
  4. 4Tick Move people up a group automatically if you want it done for you, then Save age groups.
  • When automatic moves are on, every day a child who passes the children age moves to Teens, and a teen who passes the teen age moves to Adults, from their date of birth. Anyone with no date of birth is left alone, and nobody is ever moved down.
  • Before you save, the screen lists who is already past their group and would move.
  • This only changes the age group someone is counted in. It does not move anyone to another church or branch.
  • The Youth group is a label among the adults, worked out from the date of birth, so it is always up to date.
